Link getting hit by Gloom in Tears of the Kingdom

If you’re looking for a solution to the Gloom-Borne Illness quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we’ve got you covered. This quest is quite easy to complete once you know how, but it might be a little confusing at first.

We’ll show you how to complete the Gloom-based Tears of the Kingdom quest and get the rewards for finishing it.

    • Here’s how to find the Yiga armor set in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom: How to complete Gloom Borne Illness

Sunny Veggie Porridge, the meal required to complete the Gloom Borne Illness quest in Tears of the Kingdom.

Gloom Borne Illness in Tears of the Kingdom is a quest you can start in Kakariko Village. It requires you to make Sunny Veggie Porridge to cure somebody of a gloom-related illness.

To do this, you’ll need to get your hands on a few ingredients. But before that, you’ll have to speak with a couple of people in Kakariko Village to start the quest.

Claree, who owns the armour shop, will tell you that her grandmother is ill and she’s had to charge higher prices for all her products. She will tell you to speak with her sister Lasli, who can be found sitting by a cooking pot just around the armour shop.

Lasli will inform you that porridge is the only thing her grandmother will eat as a result of her sickness. You’ll need to make a specific kind of porridge using Hylian Rice, Fresh Milk and Wild Greens.

Tears of the Kingdom: How to find the ingredients

A farm in Hateno Village in Tears of the Kingdom.

The ingredients you need to complete Gloom-Borne Illness in the game are Hylian Rice, Fresh Milk and a Sundelion flower. Cooking these three ingredients together in a cooking pot will create Gloom-Resistant Porridge.

To get Fresh Milk and Hylian Rice, you can head to Hateno Village and buy them at the general store for 12 rupees each. This village is in the southeast of Hyrule – it’s easily spotted from afar due to its windmills and the tall laboratory on the hill.

It also has a huge farm, which is good news for us since we’re after some milk. Hateno Village isn’t too far from Kakariko, so you should make this your first stop if you don’t have the ingredients already.

Sundelions are the key ingredient here, as they provide the Gloom-resistant effect to meals. You can obtain Sundelions on most Sky Islands or by checking fallen pieces of sky islands on the surface of Hyrule.

Large fallen stones often have Sundelions around them. With these ingredients in hand, cook them into a meal and talk to Lasli.

She will feed it to her grandmother, who will then be cured of her Gloom illness. You’ll get Energizing Veggie Porridge as a reward, as well as better prices at Claree’s shop.

That’s all you need to know about solving the Gloom-Borne Illness Tears of the Kingdom quest.
