To unlock Recall in Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to follow a certain path. Doing so is crucial to being able to rewind them and progress through the story.
Let’s get into how you can acquire this ability in this “unlock Recall Tears of the Kingdom” guide.
How to unlock Recall in Tears of the Kingdom
You will unlock Recall in Tears of the Kingdom early on, being one of the abilities you learn on the Great Sky Island. This is essentially the tutorial area for Tears of the Kingdom where you begin the game after the intro under Hyrule Castle.
You will unlock Recall normally by progressing through the island as Rauru suggests. You won’t miss it as it’s part of the main progression of the game.
You must complete the Nachoyah shrine, which becomes available after completing the other shrines and returning to the Temple of Time.
The other three shrines must be completed before unlocking Recall – it’s the last of the main abilities you will learn on the Great Sky Island. Your other Rune abilities include Ultrahand, Ascend and Fuse.
If you played Breath of the Wild, you’ll notice that these Runes are completely different to the ones from that game.
Tears of the Kingdom – How to use Recall
Using Recall is quite simple in Tears of the Kingdom. Use the left bumper to pull up the menu with all your Rune abilities, and select Recall on the left.
When you use Recall, time will stop. You can then select whatever you want to Recall and let go of the ability. This will cause it to rewind backwards in time.
Using it on a wheel or other moving object will reverse its movement, allowing you to cross paths you might not have been able to cross before. You can’t Recall an object forever though, so be aware of that.
