Since the big reveal of the PlayStation 4 it seems everyone wants to get involved with showing off their next-generation technology in the form of creepily realistic faces.
Activision are the latest to get on the tech-demo bandwagon with some images that are sure to wow and offer a possible sight into the future of games, more importantly for Activision, the Call of Duty franchise.
Check out some of the images below, word of warning though, they’re creepy:
The Call of Duty franchise has been criticised over the last few years for using the same engine, albeit with minor tweaks and adjustments, and it’s starting to really show it’s age, especially when pitted against its competitor EA’s Battlefield 3 and their latest demo for the sequel, Battlefield 4.
Obviously we won’t be seeing this kind of visuals straight out of the gate with the PlayStation 4 and next Xbox, but it’s not too hard to imagine that a few years down the line, once every tick in the book has been revealed and developers can craft games with their eyes closed with the latest hardware, we may just see games that blur the lines of reality and digital illusion a little more than we’re currently used to.
