Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Dates And Times
The Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event begins Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 10:00am and is active until Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 8:00pm local time.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Event Bonuses
Valentine’s Day 2023 will bless Pokemon GO Trainers with the following event bonuses:
- Double Stardust from opening Gifts.
- All Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Lovely Wishes Timed Research
Like with the Pokemon GO Lunar New Year 2023 event, the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event will feature a branching Timed Research that allows Trainers to wish for a bonus that awards extra XP for catching Pokemon, awards extra Candy for catching Pokemon, or increases the duration of Daily Adventure Incense. The bonuses and tasks you receive are determined by the path you select.
Regardless of the path you pick, all Trainers that complete the Lovely Wishes Timed Research will receive items and the chance to encounter Frillish.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Global Valentine’s Day Challenge
From Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 8:00 pm GMT to Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 7:00 pm GMT, Pokemon GO will host a global Valentine’s Day challenge.
To participate in the challenge, all you need to do is send Gifts to your friends. If Trainers from around the world send enough Gifts, it’ll unlock a bonus for all Trainers!
The Global Challenge Goal is for Trainers to send a whopping 100,000,000 Gifts. If Pokemon GO Trainers can come together to hit this milestone, everyone will receive the following bonuses:
- Triple Transfer Candy for the remainder of the event.
- Double Transfer Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up for the remainder of the event.
- Sending Gifts is also the best way to get all the Vivillon patterns in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Furfrou Form Change
While the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event is live, you can change your Natural Form Furfrou into a Heart Trim Furfrou. To do this:
- Navigate to your Pokemon storage and select Furfrou.
- Press the Change Form button to bring up a menu that lists all available Trims.
- Select the Trim of your choice.
Note that changing your Furfrou’s Form costs 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Wild Encounters
Look for the following Pokemon to appear more frequently in the wild during the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event:
- Red Flower Flabébé
- Blue Flower Flabébé
- Yellow Flower Flabébé
- Natural Form Furfrou
Depending on where you are in the world, you will encounter Flabébé with differently coloured flowers. Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will see Red Flower Flabébé. The Asia-Pacific region will run into Blue Flower Flabébé. And finally, the Americas get Yellow Flower Flabébé.
Other less common Pokemon that can appear in the wild during the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event include:
- White Flower Flabébé
- Orange Flower Flabébé
White Flower Flabébé and Orange Flower Flabébé can appear anywhere in the world, regardless of region. Additionally, all the Pokemon listed above, minus Morelull and Flabébé, may occasionally appear in their Shiny variants. This is the first time in Pokemon GO history that Trainers will be able to encounter Shiny Frillish.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Eggs
Hatching 7 km Eggs during the Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 event will spawn the following Pokemon:
All of these Pokemon have a chance to be Shiny too!
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Raids
Expect to encounter the following Pokemon in Raids while the Valentine’s Day 2023 event is ongoing:
- Natural Form Furfrou
- Tapu Lele
- Mega Gardevoir
Aside from Midoqueen, Nidoking, and Gallade, all these Raid Pokemon may appear in their Shiny forms on rare occasions.
Gallade and Gardevoir that you encounter after Raids will know the Charged Attack Synchronoise. All Gallade and Gardevoir that you evolve during the event will also know the Charged Attack Synchronoise. Synchronoise sports 80 Power in Trainer Battles, Gyms, and Raids.
- Even Mega Raids can’t compare to Pokemon GO Elite Raids.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Field Research Tasks
The Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 festivities continue with event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing Field Research tasks during the event will award you encounters with the following Pokemon:
- Spinda with a heart pattern
Morelull is the only Pokemon listed above that can’t be Shiny!
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Avatar Items And Stickers
Check the in-game Shop during the Valentine’s Day 2023 event for a chance to purchase the Frillish Top and Frillish Glasses. You can get event-themed stickers in the Shop too, or by spinning PokeStops and opening Gifts.
Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day 2023 Event: Luvdisc Limited Research Day
Mid-way through the Valentine’s Day 2023 event there’ll be a special Luvdisc Limited Research Day on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time.
During these few hours, Trainers can spin Photo Discs at PokeStops to get Limited Field Research tasks that lead to an encounter with Luvdisc. Also, look out for more event-themed Pokemon in wild encounters!
