Sorceress Leveling Guide
As with all of the classes in Lost Ark, we recommend that you try out all the skills and play whatever is the most fun for you. However, if you just want to speed up the process (maybe that’s the most fun for you) or you’re tying to power through leveling an alt, follow this breakdown of what skills to use and level up and which tripods to activate.
Back to the Master Sorceress Class Guide
You can swap between saved skill tree slots whenever for free (even in combat as long as no skills are on cooldown). It’s recommended to use both of your 2 free skillbook slots, choose abilities based on this:
- One for AoE (Area of Effect) skills to clear packs Normal Enemies.
- Select Tripods that increase effect range (Wide Strike) and increase damage to Minor and Normal types of enemies (Law of the Jungle).
- One for Bosses to focus damage on a Single Target.
- Select Tripods that increase single target damage (Single Strike) and increase damage to Challenge or higher types of enemies (Weak Point Detection).
In general, it is better to have a few skills at level 10 than to have 8 skills all levelled equally. That is because the 3rd tier of Tripods typically make the skill perform much differently and more powerfully than at lower levels. Also keep in mind you’re levelling experience will be much faster with movement skills and tripods to make your character move further and faster.

Tip: <Shift+Left Click> on the + or – will add or remove all points available to that skill!
Combat
For normal enemies, you can clear them with ease with any order of skills at lower levels. A single level 10 Explosion or level 10 Punishing Strike, once obtained at the appropriate level, is usually enough to clear the screen of normal enemies.
For Bosses here is the Rotation:
- Cast the Identity Skill Arcane Rapture at above 30% to gain the Magick Enhancement Buff.
- Arcane Torrent (100% meter) provides the same casting speed bonus as Magick Enhancement. So it is better to use this skill sooner so that you can have it up more often.
- Apply the Damage Amplification Debuff1 with your preferred choice of ONE of these skills:
- Blaze (Moderate Damage, Moderate Cast Time, leaves trail)
- Energy Discharge (Lowest Damage, Fastest Cast Time, can Spam) or
- Lightning Vortex (Highest Damage, Slowest Cast Time, Stuns)
- Cast the highest damaging abilities in this order:
- Esoteric Reaction > Frost’s Call > Explosion* > Punishing Strike2
1 When new skills become available, choose one of these skills with the Tripod 1: Damage Amplification to stay on your skillbar to apply the debuff. Other skills provide significantly better damage.
2 There is enough time to cast all 5 skills within even the shortest duration of the Magick Enhancement buff from the Identity Skill: Arcane Rapture. However, it’s imperative to get Explosion and Punishing Strike off as they greatly benefit from it with the Tripod 3: Magick Amplification. So if you don’t think you’ll have enough time, just cast these ones.
Skill Progression
The Sorceress lacks movement skills that other classes have that make leveling a bit faster. However, using Blink when the Identity Gauge has enough in it is a great tool to use as the damage output from using Arcane Rapture is often overkill for small packs of enemies.
Use Elegian’s Touch (lvl 7, Tripod 2: Swift Footwork) to gain a movement speed buff.
- At Level 20 you can max Punishing Strike
- At Level 32 you can max Explosion
- At Level 38 you can max Esoteric Reaction
Because almost all skills are viable while levelling, below is a table of every skill and at which level they perform optimally. A brief description and the Tripods you should choose to select if you use that skill:

Gear
Simply equip the highest Item Level (iLvl) equipment you find; the primary attributes (Basic Effect) are the largest source of power during levelling. If you have the option to choose which secondary attribute (Bonus Effect), focus on Swiftness for increased movement speed, reduced casting time, and faster skill cooldowns. Secondly, your next best stat is Crit.
Level 50
At level 50 the final skill: Doomsday and first Awakening Skill: Enviska’s Might will be available. Take a look at the article below to find out how to get them!
