Check out the rest of our Tears of the Kingdom Temple guides below.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Starting the Fire Temple
Upon reaching the Fire Temple, you’ll see what appears to be Princess Zelda heading towards a large rock. When the cutscene ends, use Yunobo to break this rock apart and enter the temple.
Examine the circular structure to the right to start. Your goal in the Fire Temple is to open the metal gate by unlocking five padlocks. This is achieved by ringing five gongs, each associated with one lock.
Before we start, you may want a couple of things. The first necessity is to bring some arrows. You will need heat resistance too, so buy the armour set from Goron City or bring heat-resistant Elixirs.
Bear in mind that Tears of the Kingdom temples have multiple solutions for some puzzles; these are just the solutions that worked for us in our game.

Fire Temple: Gong 1
Head south and defeat the Soldier Construct. You’ll see some fire hydrants spraying water into the lava. Grab a couple of the stone platforms they’re creating and make a bridge to cross the other side.
Once you’ve crossed, hop in the minecart and activate it. Fire Yunobo at the switch on the left to make sure you take the correct route.
Immediately on your right is another rock you can break with Yunobo. Break it, then head south and defeat the Fire Like. You can find a chest up the wall near the Fire Like.
There’s another rock to break just over the lava to the south, but you might not be able to reach it with Yunobo yet. Grab a nearby fire hydrant and use it to create some stone platforms, then attach them together to form a bridge so you can easily cross.
Inside this room is the first gong you have to ring to unlock the first padlock. Fire Yunobo at it to make it ring.
Fire Temple: Gong 2
Go back to your minecart from earlier and take it down the rail you unlocked by smashing the rock. Ride it all the way to the end of that rail, then hit the mechanism at the end to turn it around and go back the other way.
This time, use Yunobo to flip the switch and rotate the track to take the route to the right. Kill the Pebblits there and hit the nearby bell to create a new rail for you to take. There’s a chest with 10 arrows at the end of that rail.
Next to that rail, there’s another one that you can create by hitting another switch. Ride that rail until you reach a room with a rock for you to smash with Yunobo. There’s a fire hydrant you can use nearby if you need to create some platforms to reach it.
Smashing that rock will unleash a stream of stone slabs down the lava. You can easily cross to the other side by using Recall on these slabs. Kill the Soldier Construct in there and ring the gong with Yunobo. There’s also a chest higher up if you do a bit of climbing.
Fire Temple: Gong 3
Now we need to head up high for the next gongs. Travel back to the rail you just took and re-activate the switch on the other side to raise the rail up to the third floor. Take a minecart upwards, kill the Captain Construct and activate the lift down to the lower floor by hitting the glowing switch.
For gong 3 we’re heading to the remaining southern-most gong. Activate the switch in the distance with an arrow (attaching a wing to it will make the arrow fly farther).
This will lower the rail, so travel across in a minecart up to 4F. You can also cross by attaching a rocket to a minecart.
Inside the next room, you’ll see a rock way up high on the ceiling. Behind the wall is a chest covered by two metal pieces. Open the chest and grab these two pieces, then arrange them as shown in the picture below.
Send Yunobo up your new ramp and he should keep going until he smashes the rock up high. You can then climb all the way up the wall onto the fifth floor and ring the next gong with Yunobo. If you don’t have enough stamina, you can use a Balloon from your Zonai Devices and attach it to one of the metal plates to float upwards.

Fire Temple: Ruby Chest
Jump back down to the minecarts. Looking north, we’re taking the rail on the right upwards. However, this rail is broken so we can’t ride a minecart over it properly.
Grab one of the hooks and hang it from the right side rail. Attach a minecart below it, then get a fan to power it up. Activate it to cross the gap and open the chest up there to get a Ruby.
Fire Temple: Gong 4
Now head back to the central 3F platform. There are two switches side by side that will rotate a rail. Hit them until the rail is arranged as shown in the picture below.
A Soldier Construct will attack you on a minecart. Take it out and ride the rail until you can jump off at a new platform.
Smash the rock by sending Yunobo up the ramp. Then, using the fire hydrants on the pillar, create a bridge out of stone slabs. You can attach them together and use them as a ramp to send Yunobo up to the fourth gong.
Now it’s time for the final gong. We’re going to need that big ramp you just created, so don’t lose it.
Fire Temple: Gong 5
Grab your ramp bridge and turn 180 degrees. With your ramp bridge in hand, place it across the gap with one end at the far left and one where you’re standing. You may need to add a few more slabs to it to make this strategy work.
Send Yunobo rolling up this ramp and smash the big rock. This opens the way into the nearby tower, where you can drop down and activate the fifth gong.
Grab the nearby chest, then activate the glowing switch to open the door and head back to where you started. It’s time for a boss fight.
Fire Temple Boss: Marbled Gohma
Gohma returns in the Tears of the Kingdom Fire Temple, but this time he’s Marbled. Activate the boss fight by shooting Yunobo up the side of the curved wall.
This beast is the source of the Goron’s problems with Marbled Rock Roast, the drug-like food that has brainwashed the Goron population. You’ll have to take it down to put an end to that.
This boss is fairly simple to defeat, but it requires some good aiming with Yunobo. He’s too tough to damage with Link, so you’ll have to use Yunobo to attack him.
How to beat Marbled Gohma in the Fire Temple
Gohma will shoot exploding rocks at you. You can move these out of the way with Ultrahand.
More importantly, you can break Gohma’s legs with Yunobo. Break two of his legs and Gohma will topple over, allowing you to run up to his eye and smack it. After a good amount of hits, you’ll have to get away from his eye, or Gohma will shake you off and damage you.
Do this enough times and he will enter his second phase, which is a bit trickier. Gohma will hang from the ceiling, and he’ll surround you with exploding rocks. Use Yunobo to break them and clear a path out.
You’ll need to shoot Yunobo up the curved wall towards Gohma on the ceiling. If you hit him, he will drop and you can damage his eye once again.
Do enough damage and Gohma will be defeated. Enjoy your free Heart Container and a cutscene with Yunobo!
