Introduction to Provision Crates in New World
Provision crates are one of four main types of lootable chests in New World. There are also Supply, Ancient, and Alchemy chests. Provision chests typically carry food that is not available from any other source in New World, like Salt for example. They also carry other fruits and cooking ingredients, as well as cooked meals and recipes. What Items Can You Get From Provisions Crates in New World?
The following is the full list of cooking ingredients you can get from Provisions Crates or Provisions Stockpiles in New World. Of the cooking ingredients you can get, you will typically obtain 3-4 of the items.
You will notice that each ingredient is only available to be obtained in up to 3 zones. Check out the table and search for the ingredient you are looking for. You will be presented with the game image as well as a list of 3 zones. You will need to loot provisions in those regions for your chance to obtain the ingredients. Any provisions in any other zones will not provide you with the item.

Best Provisions Locations in New World
In this section we will go through each and every zone to show the best places you can loot provisions crates. Each section will show the zone name, and outline specific areas you can focus on if you want to mass farm the ingredients within these New World provision crates. Remember to always loot these crates as you go, as the ingredients you can get from them don’t weigh too much and are very much needed for the cooking profession.
First Light to Get Cauliflower, Onions, and Melons in New World
First Light has provisions crates that yield Cauliflower, Onion, and Melon, among other meals and recipes including milk. Either head up from First Light Town, or fast travel to the north shrine and hit this path:
Cutlass Keys to Get Oranges, Tomatoes, Onion in New World
Cutlass Keys has provisions crates that yield Orange, Tomato, and Onion, among other meals and recipes including milk. In Cutlass Keys, you can head directly south of Cutlass Keys Town and follow this easy circuit to hit a massive amount of provision crates. Finish up either at the fast travel shrine close to Fort Cutlass Keys, or travel the rest of the way back to town.
Monarch’s Bluffs to Get Rice, Tomatoes, Yeast in New World
Monarch’s Bluffs has provisions crates that yield Rice, Tomatoes, and Yeast, among other meals and recipes including milk. Here you can head directly east of Monarch’s Bluff’s Town to hit two major areas of provision crates. Your second option is to head west to the island with Fort Monarch’s Bluffs, loop down to the south end, and finish at the fast travel shrine.
Windsward to Get Sugar and Coconut in New World
Windsward has provisions crates that yield Sugar and Coconut, among other meals and recipes including milk. There are not very many spawns of these crates in Windsward, but if you head west of the settlement you can hit 6 crates fairly quickly, and another 4 east of the town. In the north-east corner of the region you could also hit those 5 crates.
Everfall to Get Salt, Wheat, and String Bean in New World
Everfall has provisions crates that yield Salt, Wheat, and String Beans, among other meals and recipes including milk. Everfall is excellent and the best place to get Salt in New World. There are so many provision crates here and the farming route is actually very efficient. For a quick hit close to the settlement, there are 4 crates south-west of town.
For the best path to find salt, wheat, or string beans, start near the North-West fast travel shrine. Start in Shadowmine, move to Dustmeadow, and into Salt Hollow. You conveniently end right beside another fast travel shrine, or about a <5 minute walk to town.
Ebonscale Reach to Get Sugar and String Beans in New World
Ebonscale Reach has provisions crates that yield Sugar and String Beans, among other meals and recipes including milk. Two possibilities here. You can travel south to the fast travel shrine and hit the crates in the mountains, then head off to the island to the west.
The second and more friendly route is to head east of town and follow the path we’ve outlined below, hitting each cluster of provision crates along the way.
Reekwater to Get Sugar, Apples, and String Beans in New World
Reekwater has provisions crates that yield Sugar, Apple and String Bean, among other meals and recipes including milk. The main area you will want to focus on is south-east from town, around Siren’s Stand. Hit this area for the most crates. There is also a cluster of 5 crates on the western boarder, which is also not too far from town.
Brightwood to Get Salt, Apple, and Yeast in New World
Brightwood has provisions crates that yield Salt, Apples, and Yeast, among other meals and recipes including milk. There is one main path you can travel to hit an astounding amount of provisions crates for a great farm.
Start at the Brightwood Settlement, head west close to Wolfbough, then follow further south all the way to Walsham, and finish off at Lake Genevieve. You will likely have to fight enemies along the way as usual, but this farm will net you a hefty amount of much needed Salt.
Weaver’s Fen to Get Lemon, Coconut, and Melon in New World
Weaver’s Fen has provisions crates that yield Lemons, Coconuts, and Melons, among other meals and recipes including milk. The spawn points for provision crates are kind of all over the place here, so there isn’t one clear path.
You can head south from the Weaver’s Fen Settlement into Richmire, then into Pestilence before you head back up north to Soddenswale to finish off your farming route.
Restless Shore to Get Rice, Lemon, and Coconut in New World
Restless Shore has provisions crates that yield Lemons, Coconuts, and Rice, among other meals and recipes including milk. There are honestly way more spawns for Lemons and Coconuts in Weaver’s Fen, so you really should not be here for those. Rice is also way better farmed in Monarch’s Bluffs and you should focus there for Rice.

Mourningdale to Get Oranges, Tomatoes, and Cauliflower in New World
Mourningdale has provisions crates that yield Orange, Tomato, and Cauliflower, among other meals and recipes including milk. If you head north of the settlement you can hit several clusters or provision crates all across the norther region of Mourningdale. Follow the path outlined for an efficient farming route for Oranges, Tomatoes, and Cauliflower.
Edengrove to Get Oranges, Cauliflower, and Onions in New World
Edengrove has provisions crates that yield Orange, Onion, and Cauliflower, among other meals and recipes including milk. You can start at the south outpost and head north through the spiral to get 5 provision crates. Another option is 4 crates close to the outpost just to the northeast. The final option is south near the boarder of Weaver’s Fen.
Great Cleave to Get Wheat, Lemons, and Melons in New World
Great Cleave has provisions crates that yield Wheat, Lemon, and Melon, among other meals and recipes including milk. As long as you can fight the enemies just fine, Great Cleave is incredibly efficient as the route is so tightly spread with a directly North-South farming route.
You can start at the North of the region, but if you are max level and want to start a really, really long route, start at the south. If you start in the south of Cleat Cleave, move up thorugh Frozen Claims, Deep Cut, The Hollowing, and Lower Svikin, you end your run at the North border to Shattered Mountain. At this point you can continue on through Shattered Mountain into Upper Svikin for even more crates. You can see Upper Svikin in the Shattered Mountain section for Yeast and Rice.
Shattered Mountain to Get Yeast and Rice in New World
Shattered Mountain has provisions crates that yield Rice and Yeast, among other meals and recipes including milk. As long as you can fight the enemies just fine, Shattered Mountain is great to obtain provision crates in New World because there are so many spawn points.
If you started your farming route in Great Cleave, which we suggest you do, you will continue it in Upper Svikin. After this area, head West, then North to finish off your Shattered Mountain farming route for crates.
