berserker lost ark class guide

Our Berserker Lost Ark class guide covers everything you need to know about this Gunner subclass, including its overall role in the team, its strengths and weaknesses, some tips, and more. Lost Ark allows you to control a number of classes, who all come with different benefits in PvE and PvP content. So if you want a breakdown of the Berserker Lost Ark class, we’ve got you covered below.

Berserker Class Guide Overview

The Berserker in Lost Ark is a Warrior type that wields a gigantic Greatsword. Their musical instrument is a War Horn. The Berserker is a Pure melee DPS class.

Their Identity Gauge, the Fury Meter, fills up upon successful hits to enemies. Once full players can activate it to enter Fury Mode. Upon activation the Berserker glows red, has increased attack and movement speeds and critical rate, and access to another ability: Bloody Rush. There is a cooldown period, Impairment, where the Berserker cannot enter Fury Mode again for 30 seconds.

There’s not much more to say, they are big hulking behemoths that hit hard and hit fast.

Role of a Berserker

Berserkers are a pure DPS class in Lost Ark. In PvE, they excel at sustained and burst damage to the boss. In PvP, they are the main source of damage on a team, and when left alone to combo their abilities, their targets will take a lot of burst damage.

Strengths

  • High Damage
  • Straightforward and easy class to learn

Weaknesses

  • No Party Synergy (no party buffs)
  • Not much utility

Berserker Levelling Guide

We recommend that you try out all the skills and play whatever is the most fun for you. However, if you just want to speed up the process (maybe that’s the most fun for you) or you’re tying to power through levelling an alt, follow this level by level breakdown of what skills to use and level up and which tripods to activate.

You can swap between saved skill tree slots whenever for free (even in combat as long as no skills are on cooldown). It’s recommended to use both your skillbook slots, choose abilities based on this: one for AoE (packs of normal enemies) and one for Single Target (Boss/Elites).

(If you don’t want to bother constantly adding and removing skill points every level as you test things out just follow this guide)

Skill Progression

At early levels use all the abilities you have available, try them all out and see what works best for you. Wind Blade and Powerful Swing are good options for fillers, but replace them when you get to higher levels.

The hardest hitting ability we have is Finish Strike so focus on getting that to 10 once you’re level 20. Whirlwind is an excellent AoE ability, so that will be the next priority. Following that we put points into Hell Blade, Strike Wave, then Tempest Slash.

For Mobility: Whenever possible, put extra points into Shoulder Charge up to level 4 for the first Tripod 1: Excellent Mobility. This is one of your best mobility skills, so use it often travelling between packs of enemies. At Level 18 you get Diving Slash with Tripod 1: Excellent Mobility or Quick Preparation, and Tripod 2: Swift Move if you have spare points leftover from the main skills. At level 41 you’ll have enough points to keep Hell Blade the first Tripod 1: Leap; this is another great movement ability that you’ll want to have excess points in . Additionally, for even more movement

Gear

Just equip the highest Item Lv. item you find. Focus on Agility for increased movement speed, reduced casting time, and faster skill cooldowns. Secondly, your next best stat is Specialization.

Berserker Solo PvE Build

Here’s the general strategy for Berserkers Chaos Dungeons, Tower Event, and solo Quests. Focus on grouping up enemies and using AoE abilities.

For this build, the change here is the focus on the skill Whirlwind, you have great mobility with this skill in general and at level 10 it does significantly more damage.

As usual, you’ll want to try out using buffing skills primarily Red Dust for crit rate. Alternatively, Chain Sword (Tripod 1: Vital Point Strike) or Mountain Crash (Tripod 2: Swift Attack Prep) can work too. Then use the heavy hitter damaging skills like Hell Blade and Finish Strike.

Using your Awakening Skill: Chain of Vengeance after Red Dust or Chain Sword, with enough crit, can usually one shot bosses.

Berserker Solo Content Stat Priority

Firstly, your stats should be more focused on Specialization. Secondly, Crit.

Berserker PvE Build

This build requires 312 Skill Points which will require the collecting a few extra skill points from Shushire and Rohendel if you have it unlocked.

Berserker PvE Party Build

Here’s a good build to start from for Berserkers Guardian RaidsChaos Dungeons and Abyss Dungeons in a group setting.

Largely the focus with these skills is single target damage. We take Mountain Crash and Chain Sword for those Self Buffs to Crit and attack speed.

Berserker PvE Raid Stat Priority

Firstly, your stats should be more focused on Specialization. Next stat would be Crit.

Mayhem / Madness

I quickly want to mention that there is a change to the class engraving Madness. We don’t know if that will be coming to the NA/EU release. But the gist of it is that you stay in the Identity Skill Fury, however your health is reduced to 25%. Don’t worry as you will take 65% less damage now. This means that potions are highly effective and economical.

For stats, you no longer need High Specialization to get into Fury mode and make it last longer. Instead, you focus on Crit and Swiftness.

For Skills, there are a number of Tripods that increase damage when your health is below 50%. Such as Hell Blade Tripod 2: Deadly Blow. Finish Strike Tripod 2: Finishing Blow. Sword Storm Tripod 3: Flame Storm.

Additionally, the engraving Champion’s Tenacity, is now quite useful. Lv. 3: Outgoing damage +16% at 50% or lower HP. With no negative effect, it’s a safe choice over Grudge or Cursed Doll.

Here is a video explaining it in detail:

Berserker PvP Guide

In Player versus Player Arenas, Berserkers put a lot of pressure on their targets. They are one of the easiest classes to pick up and learn, they do one thing: Damage. They are easy to combo their abilities and has really high damage in PvP.

You’ll want to try to enter Fury mode as quickly as possible, that means using your Awakening Skill: Chain of Vengeance soon, after charging in and then stunning with a Sword Storm. While in Fury mode, you can Shoulder Charge into auto-attack to stagger and finish off enemies.

Berserker PvP Skills Build

Feel free to change whatever skills you like depending on your playstyle and how you see fit.

A quick combo in this build that usually hits:

  • Shoulder Charge or Wind Blade >
  • Mountain Crash >
  • Red Dust >
  • Finish Strike

or chase an enemy down and lock them out with:

  • Shoulder Charge >
  • Tempest Slash >
  • Wind Blade >
  • Mountain Crash >
  • Red Dust >
  • Finish Strike

The key to bursting down an enemy is making sure they have already used their “Get Up” spacebar ability.

You can also play around with Level 10 of Shoulder Charge for Tripod 3: Earthquake Effect for an additional stun.

Best Berserker Engravings

Berserker’s engravings are straightforward, you want at least 1 level in Berserker’s Technique, then focus on Grudge level 3 and Keen Blunt Weapon level 3. Anything remaining can go into Raid Captain, Cursed Doll or Awakening.

Once we know what the effects of the class Mayhem Engraving will have we’ll update this list to include a build for that.
