The second half of Pokemon GO’s major Christmas event, Winter Holiday, is officially underway from 23 December at 10AM to 31 December at 8PM local time. For a whole bunch of holiday fun, Winter Holiday offers themed wild spawns, raids, field research and various other bonuses. The most notable of these is of course Eevee and all of its evolutions wearing festive holiday hats. Let’s get into everything that comes with Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2.

Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2: Spawns, Raids, And More
Costumed Debuts
Like many other events, Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2 offers particular Pokemon wearing exclusive holiday hats for the first time. In this case, it’s the entire cast of Eeveelutions along with a ribbon-wearing Beartic. Here is the full list:
- Eevee (Holiday Hat)
- Vaporeon (Holiday Hat)
- Joelton (Holiday Hat)
- Flareon (Holiday Hat)
- Espeon (Holiday Hat)
- Umbreon (Holiday Hat)
- Leafeon (Holiday Hat)

Wild Spawns
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:

Raids
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in 1-star raids:
- Pikachu (Winter Carnival)
- Sandshrew (Alolan)
- Eevee (Holiday Hat)
- Darumaka (Galarian)
- Cubchoo (Holiday)
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in 3-star raids:
- Cloyster
- Lapras
- Delibird (Holiday)
- Glaceon (Undersea Holiday)
In 5-star raids, Kyruem will also be appearing 5-star raids. If caught between Friday 23 December at 10AM and Sunday 1 January 2023 at 10AM local time, Kyrem will also have the featured attack, Glaciate.
Finally, Mega Glalie will also be appearing more frequently in mega raids.
Hisuian Avalugg Raid Day
On Saturday, 24 December from 2PM to 5PM local time, players will have the chance to catch a Hisuian Avalugg in three-raid raids, with an increased chance to catch a Shiny version! You’ll also earn up to five additional daily raid passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
Field Research
You will encounter the following Pokemon and other rewards for completing these particular Field Research tasks:
- Catch 5 Ice-type Pokemon: Pokeball x 5, Ultra Ball x 3, Razz Berry x 3, Pinap Berry x 3
- Catch 5 different species of Pokemon: Cubchoo (Holiday), Delibird (Holiday)
- Hatch an egg: Sneasel
- Send 5 Gifts to friends: Pikachu (Winter Carnival), Eevee (Holiday Hat)
- Open 5 Gifts: Sandshrew (Alolan)
- Catch 7 Ice-type Pokemon: Seel, Shellder
- Catch 10 different species of Pokemon: Jynx
- Win a raid: Glaceon (Undersea Holiday)
- Send 3 Gifts and add a sticker to each: Crabrawler, Abomasnow Mega Energy x 25
7KM Eggs
The following Pokemon will be available to hatch in 7KM eggs:
- Sneasel
- Smoochum
- Amaura
- Bergmite
- Crabrawler
Winter Wonderland
From Saturday, 24 December at 10AM to Sunday, 25 Dec at 8PM, Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2 will also feature a Winter Wonderland with the following perks:
- Bonuses – one extra special trade per day, plus a Daily Adventure Incense will last for 30 minutes.
- A lucky exchange – The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokemon a player can get in a trade is now 15 instead of 10, plus a traded Pokemon is guaranteed to be Lucky if its been in storage since 2017.
- Collection Challenge – complete the Winter Wonderland Collection Challenge by Sunday, 25 December at 8PM local time for bonus XP, an incense, and a Mr. Mime (Galarian) Encounter.
Event Bonuses
Along with the below Timed Research bonuses, Pokemon GO players will be able to hold up to 40 Gifts until the end of the event!

Winter Wishes Timed Research: Will Your Wish Come True?
In addition to the paid bonus research, Pokemon GO Winter Holiday Part 2 also features Timed Research that goes down certain Winter Wishes story paths depending on what choice you make. After you completing Step 1, as shown above, you’ll be given a choice of three rewards which also determine your path for Step 2:
- 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance – Hatching Eggs Path
- 2 x XP for catching Pokemon – Catching Pokemon Path
- 2 x Stardust for catching Pokemon – Collecting Stardust Path
After you choose your path, you’ll receive additional event-exclusive timed research tasks that will earn you even more rewards.
Winter Wishes – Hatching Eggs Path
In the Hatching Eggs Path, you’ll be given the following Timed Research tasks with particular awards, along with additional rewards for completing each step altogether:
Step 1
- Catch 5 Pokemon – Glacial Lure Module x 1
- Spin 3 Pokestops or Gyms – Eevee (Holiday Hat) Encounter
- Power up Pokemon 5 times – Silver Pinap Berry x 2
