Deadeye Class Guide Overview

deadeye lost ark build guide devil hunter

The Deadeye in Lost Ark is a Gunner type class that wields 3 different guns: Dual Pistols, a Shotgun and a Rifle. Their musical instrument is an Electric Guitar. The Deadeye is a Hybrid DPS; that means they attack from both Ranged and Melee distances.

The Identity Skill of the Deadeye differs from other classes in that they do not have a traditional Identity Skill instead, they have the Weapon Stance Switch. The Deadeye switches between their weapons at any time, instantaneously. Depending on the mechanics of the fight, the player must choose which weapon to use in each and every scenario.

The Dual Pistols are typically used to Debuff the target to Increase the Crit of those attacking it. Additionally, they buff the players movement and attack speed. Finally, many of the Pistol abilities provide the Deadeye with very high mobility.

The Shotgun is used for close ranged damage.

The Rifle or Sniper is used for Long ranged damage.

There are two distinct playstyles that players can choose from through the use of the Deadeye’s Class Engravings:

  • Enhanced Weapon – Changing Weapon Stance increases Crit Rate for 9s.
  • Pistoleer – Only use Pistol skills, but increases their damage.

Both playstyles are viable in endgame content so pick your favorite flavor. The Pistoleer Engraving playstyle is typically less used as its damage is lower than when using the Enhanced Weapon Engraving. Swapping Weapons and managing cooldowns is part of the enjoyment of the Deadeye, however if you want a very simple experience choose the Pistoleer engraving is perfectly fine.

Role of a Deadeye

Deadeyes are a pure DPS class in Lost Ark. In PvE, they focus on sustained damage to the boss and keeping the Debuff that increases Crit Rate for any attack (including party members) towards the Boss. In PvP, they are going to be one of the highest threats in regards to damage in the arena.

Strengths

  • High Damage
  • High Mobility – Pistol Abilities and Combo Dodge (spacebar)
  • Provides Increased Crit Rate to party

Weaknesses

  • Lower health pool and defense stat
  • Can be difficult to master landing very close back attacks with the shotgun.

Deadeye Levelling Guide

We recommend that you try out all the skills and play whatever is the most fun for you. However, if you just want to speed up the process (maybe that’s the most fun for you) or you’re tying to power through levelling an alt, follow this level by level breakdown of what skills to use and level up and which tripods to activate.

You can swap between saved skill tree slots whenever for free (even in combat as long as no skills are on cooldown). It’s recommended to use both of your 2 free skillbook slots, choose abilities based on this:

  • One for AoE (Area of Effect) Normal Enemies
    • Select Tripods that increase effect range (Wide Strike) and increase damage to Minor and Normal types of enemies (Law of the Jungle).
  • One for Single Target Bosses and Elites
    • Select Tripods that increase single target damage (Single Strike) and increase damage to Challenge or higher types of enemies (Weak Point Detection).

In general, it is better to have a few skills at level 10 than to have 8 skills all levelled equally. That is because the 3rd tier of Tripods typically make the skill perform much differently and more powerfully than at lower levels. Also keep in mind you’re levelling experience will be much faster with movement skills and tripods to make your character move further and faster.

Largely you’ll be in the Pistols stance for all the movement skills to travel when you cannot mount up. The basis of the allocation of points goes like this: select Tripods that increase Mobility, Attack Speed, and Cooldown Reduction. These Tripods are typically found in the first tier. Here are the mobility skills you should focus on keeping at Level 4:

  • Enforce Execution (default ability)
  • Somersault Shot (default ability)
  • Dexterous Shot (lvl 22)

Then dealing big damage with the Shotgun, due to the x2 damage of these shotgun skills:

  • Sign of Apocalypse (default ability) 1
  • Shotgun Rapid Fire (lvl 20) 1
  • Shotgun Dominator (lvl 28)

1 For Boss fights, have a copy of your skills except swap to these tripods: Shotgun Dominator Tripod 3: Approached Apocalypse and Shotgun Rapid Fire Tripod 3: Special Bullet

The Rifle is hardly used except for filler damage.

Gear

Just equip the highest Item Lv. item you find. Focus on Swiftness for increased movement speed, reduced casting time, and faster skill cooldowns. Secondly, your next best stat is Specialization.

Deadeye PvE Build – Chaos Dungeon

Here’s a basic PvE build for Deadeyes. It’s good for content such as Chaos Dungeons, Tower Event, and Quests.

The basic rotation is very straightforward. It’s more of a priority than a rotation. Gather enemies and clear them with Shotgun Skills. Then swap to pistols when they are on cooldown and use Equilibrium to clear targets. Also, if you need to be on the move you should be using pistols and their abilities.

Deadeye Chaos Dungeon Stat Priority

Your stats should be more focused on Specialization for increased weapon damage. Secondly, the next best stat is Crit. Roughly in a 70:30 ratio, respectively. In this build, you do not need Swiftness for the Pistol Abilities and buffs from the Tripods make up for it.

Deadeye Chaos Dungeon Build

This build requires 260 Skill Points which will potentially require the collecting of a few extra skill points from Shushire or Rohendel if you have it unlocked.

Deadeye PvE Build – Enhanced Weapon

Below is a good basic PvE Build using the Deadeye class engraving Enhanced Weapon. This build the preferred build in end game content, however it can be difficult to play. It is generally a good build for all types of content including Chaos Dungeons, Tower Event, and Quests, Guardian Raids, and Abyss Dungeons.

Focus on making sure the Debuff to Increase Crit Rate is on the Target at al ltimes. This should be easy as there are 3 skills that have Tripods in this build which grant it:

  • Spiral Tracker
  • AT02:Grenade
  • Equilibrium

Then swap to your Shotgun and get as close as possible to the rear of the boss to benefit from their 2x damage component and back attack bonus damage.

  • Sign of Apocalypse
  • Shotgun Rapid Fire
  • Shotgun Dominator
  • Last Request

Lastly, you can perform Perfect Shot from a safe distance.

Deadeye Enhanced Weapon Stat Priority

Your stats should be more focused on Specialization for increased weapon damage. Secondly, the next best stat is Crit. Roughly in a 70:30 ratio, respectively. In this build, you do not need Swiftness for the Pistol Abilities and buffs from the Tripods make up for it.

Deadeye PvE Build – Pistoleer

Below is a good basic PvE Build using the Deadeye class engraving Pistoleer. It is less complicated than the Enhanced Weapon build and has less damage potential. But due to the high mobility and simplicity, it might be safer to use for some content if you are struggling. It’s good enough for Chaos Dungeons, Tower Event, and Quests, but can also be used in Guardian Raids, and Abyss Dungeons.

Deadeye Pistoleer Stat Priority

Maximize Crit as much as possible. Then focus on distributing points to Swiftness. Roughly in a 70:30 ratio, respectively.

Deadeye Pistoleer Build

This build requires 268 Skill Points which will require the collecting a few extra Skill Points in Shushire and Rohendel.

Deadeye PvP Guide

In Player versus Player Arenas, Deadeyes typically play the role of a “Lone Wolf”. With their extremely high mobility, super armor, and damage, they are an indominable threat to all other players. While they don’t provide any utility other than 10% Crit Bonus, they are very good at eliminating the competition on their own.

PvP Stats

  • 1000 Swiftness
  • 249 Domination
  • 1 Crit

Deadeye PvP Skills Build

Feel free to change whatever skills you like depending on your playstyle and how you see fit.

Some combos available with this build include:

  • Enforce Execution (engage)>
  • Spiral Tracker (stagger) or AT02 Grenade (stun) >
  • Last Request (Finisher) or Catastrophe (knock up)

You can even combine all 5 of the above attacks in one big combo like this:

  • Enforce Execution (engage)>
  • Spiral Tracker (stagger) > (swap to Shotgun)
  • Last Request (Damage) > (swap to Pistols)
  • AT02 Grenade (stun) > (swap to Rifle)
  • Catastrophe (Damage and Knockup)

And Finally, you can add Enforce Execution and Death Fire (Requires Tripod 3: Infiltrate Decimation) before the above combo to get this whopping 7 point combo:

  • Enforce Execution(gap closer) >
  • Death Fire (engage and then cancel after dash animation) >
  • Spiral Tracker (stagger) > (swap to Shotgun)
  • Last Request (Damage) > (swap to Pistols)
  • AT02 Grenade (stun) > (swap to Rifle)
  • Catastrophe (Damage and Knockup) >
  • Perfect Shot (finisher)

Pro Tip: When using Catastrophe in close quarters, press it again in quick succession to speed up the animation and have the explosion hit faster.

Awakenings Combos:

  • AT02 Grenade (stun) > (position enemy to the right of your character)
  • Awakening: Clay Bombardment
    • or
  • Aimed Shot (stun) >
  • Awakening: Bursting Flare

Any other skills not listed here can be up to you to add to your skill bar for filler damage.

Best Deadeye Engravings

The Enhanced Weapon class engraving can be swapped out for the other one: Pistoleer. For each, they only require the first level of the class engraving, but obviously getting them to level 3 is a priority. The other engravings benefit each build and remain the same between both builds.
