Welcome to our Lost Ark Gear Progression Guide. In this guide we break down the steps needed to go from an Item Level of 250 all the way to 1575. Each section aims to break out just what you need to know to obtain your gear and upgrade efficiently.
Tier 1 Gear Progression: Vern & Rohendel
Item Level 250 [North Vern]
- After completing the main story line and reaching level 50, you should be Item Level 250.
- At this point you should have already unlocked Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids. If you have not, check your purple Guide Quests and make sure you complete the introductory quest for them.
Item Level 250-302 [North Vern]
- Complete the Level 1 Chaos Dungeon to obtain your Item Level 302 gear set.
- Complete the Ur’Nil Guardian Raid to obtain more upgrade materials like Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments.
- Finish the Blue Quests in North Vern until you unlock the ability to go to Abyssal Dungeons, and unlock the Shushire Continent.
Alternative: Instead of completing Chaos Dungeons for your gear set, you may decide to complete the Shushire questline. This will also grant you with a full set of ilvl 302 gear.
Item Level 302-340 [North Vern]
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, Una’s Tasks, and any remaining blue quests to gather more upgrade materials.
- Achieve an average of +2 on all of your gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the first two Abyssal Dungeons: Demon Beast Canyon and Necromancer’s Origin. These will allow you to obtain the epic tier 1 gear set. You can use the Gear Recycling NPC to transfer your upgrades from your rare set to your epic set.
Item Level 340-460 [North Vern > Rohendel]
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, Una’s Tasks, and any remaining blue quests to gather more upgrade materials.
- Achieve an average of +8 on all of your gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the Guide Quest to get to Rohendel and sail to Rohendel.
- Complete the Blue World Quest Line in Rohendel to unlock the next set of Chaos Dungeons and Abyssal Dungeons.
- Complete the new Abyssal Dungeons: Hall of the Twisted Warlord and Hildebrandt Palace to obtain your legendary gear set.
- Transfer your upgrades from your epic set to your legendary set at the Gear Recycling NPC.
Item Level 460-600 [Rohendel]
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks to gather more upgrade materials.
- Achieve an average of +15 on all of your gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the Guide Quest to get to Yorn and sail to Yorn.
- Complete the Blue World Quest Line in Yorn to unlock the next set of Chaos Dungeons and Abyssal Dungeons.
Tier 2 Gear Progression: Yorn & Feiton
Item Level 600-802 [Yorn]
- Complete the first Yorn Chaos Dungeon to obtain your Tier 2 Rare Set, which is Item Level 802. This is just like the first step you did in Tier 1 for your original Blue Tier 1 Set.
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks to gather more upgrade materials.
Item Level 802-840 [Yorn]
- Achieve an average of +2 on all of your Tier 2 blue set by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the first two Abyssal Dungeons in Yorn: Lamenting Road and Falling Proud Furnace. These will allow you to obtain the Epic Tier 2 Gear Set. You can use the Gear Recycling NPC to transfer your upgrades from your rare set to your epic set.
Item Level 840-960 [Yorn > Feiton]
- Achieve an average of +8 on all of your Tier 2 Gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the Guide Quest to get to Feiton and sail to Feiton.
- Complete the Blue World Quest Line in Feiton to unlock the next set of Chaos Dungeons and Abyssal Dungeons.
- Complete the new Abyssal Dungeons: Sea of Sloth, Tranquil Karkosa, and Alaric’s Sacred Ground to obtain your legendary gear set.
- Transfer your upgrades from your Epic Tier 2 Set to your Legendary set at the Gear Recycling NPC.
Item Level 960-1100 [Feiton]
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks to gather more upgrade materials.
- Achieve an average of +15 on all of your gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the Guide Quest to get to Punika and sail to Punika.
- Complete the Blue World Quest Line in Punika to unlock the next set of Chaos Dungeons and Abyssal Dungeons.
Tier 3 Gear Progression: Punika
Item Level 1100-1302 [Punika]
- Complete the first Punika Chaos Dungeon to obtain your Tier 3 Rare Set, which is Item Level 1302. This is just like the first step you did in Tier 1 for your original Blue Tier 1 Set.
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks to gather more upgrade materials.
Item Level 1302-1325 [Punika]
- Achieve an average of +6 on all of your Tier 3 blue set by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the first Abyssal Dungeon in Punika: Eye of Aira.
- This will allow you to obtain some of the Epic Tier 3 Gear Set. You can use the Gear Recycling NPC to transfer your upgrades from your rare set to your epic set.
Item Level 1325-1340 [Punika]
- Achieve an average of +9 on all of your Tier 2 Gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the second Abyssal Dungeon in Punika: Oreha Preveza.
- This will allow you to obtain the rest Epic Tier 3 Gear Set. You can use the Gear Recycling NPC to transfer your upgrades from your rare set to your epic set.
Item Level 1340-1415 [Punika]
- Continue to complete daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Una’s Tasks to gather more upgrade materials.
- Achieve an average of +15 on all of your gear by upgrading it at the Gear Honing NPC.
- Complete the Abyss Raid: Argos. Here is where you will obtain your Tier 3 Legendary Set.
- You can use the Gear Recycling NPC to transfer your upgrades from your rare set to your epic set.
Item Level 1415-1460 [Punika] (Unreleased)
Upon reaching a gearscore of 1415, you have a few options in how you go about acquiring a Gear Score of 1460. The first is to upgrade your Argos set to +18. The second option is to run the Legion Raid called “Valtan” on normal to create a full set of Legendary Gear score 1340 gear and then upgrade it to +18.
The third option is to upgrade your Argos or Valtan set to +16 and then to run the Legion Raid Called “Biackiss” for a full set of legendary gear. After acquiring that gear, Upgrade it to +18. The fourth option is to take your Argos, Valtan, or Baickiss +17 gear into the Valtan Hard raid to craft a full set of Valtan relic gear and then upgrade it to +18. The Valtan and Baickiss sets have much higher base stats than the Argos set.
Item Level 1460-1490 [Punika] (Unreleased)
Upon reaching a Gear Score of 1460 you have a few options on your way to reaching 1490. The first option is to upgrade whichever set you used up to +20. The second option is to run the Legion Raid “Biackiss” hard difficulty to craft a full set of relic gear and upgrade it to +20. The Third option is to upgrade your set to +19 and the run the Legion Raid called “Kouku-Saton” on normal difficulty to craft a full set of relic gear and upgrade that to +20. If you made the Kouku-Saton set, be sure to upgrade it with trumpets level 2 for a dps increase.
Item Level 1490-1575 [Punika] (Unreleased)
Upon reaching a Gear Score of 1490 you have a few options on your way to 1575. The first option is to upgrade your gear to +25. The second option is to run the Legion raid called “Abrelshud” on normal difficulty to make a full set of relic ilvl 1340 gear. After making the gear, recycle your old gear into it and upgrade it to +25.
