Monolith Soft’s latest addition to the Xenoblade series, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, was announced I’m Nintendo’s latest Direct presentation. It was initially set to release in September this year, which made a lot of fans happy. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was expected and rumored to be in the works for quite a while, so to see it set to release so soon and in the same year as it was announced was refreshing to see.
But now, Nintendo’s made Xenoblade fans even happier. They uploaded a trailer for the game with a set release date on their YouTube channel. Turns out the release date went from September of this year to July, July 29th to be exact!
The trailer includes some gameplay footage, which is mainly focused on battling. It shows off powerful skills, chain attacks, and some sort of mind link transformation thing, which looks like it’ll be very important . The HUD has a lot going on, but it seems that it’ll be simple to understand. This is Xenoblade we’re talking about though, so I could be way wrong. But the trailer ends with the previously mentioned release date, July 29, 2022.
It’s not very often you see a game come out sooner than announced or expected, especially in Nintendo’s case. It’s even rarer to see a game releasing sooner than expected looking like it’ll be amazing. I myself am not a huge fan of the series as a whole (though I really like Xenoblade Chronicles 2), but Monolith Soft really did their thing and I’m happy for everyone that gets to play what’s now this Summer release.
How do you feel about this? Are you excited to be playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 even sooner? Or are you worried that the sooner release date could end up being problematic? Do you plan on playing it at all? Also, what other games do you know have been released sooner than their initial release date? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
