Mario is the Italian hero we all know and love, and in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, we can customize his progression however we’d like. However, some skills are best to unlock first than others. Here is our advice on what skills to use your points with towards the beginning of the game.
- Rabbid Rosalina is in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, but is the character herself involved?
Best Mario Skill Tree Options in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
Mario is classed as an all-rounder in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope as he has decent offensive abilities and can get around each map in an agile manner. He is weaker than his Rabbid self, however, in terms of damage potential. What we recommend upgrading first in the Italian Plumber’s skill tree is the technique section.
From here, you can accentuate your exceptionally useful hero sight ability. Whenever you use it in battle, Mario will automatically attack a foe that moves within his sight. It can really help you against foes that quickly run up to you. It’s like adding another turn’s worth of damage. Within the technique section of the skill tree, you can reduce the number of turns until Hero Sight returns from three to one. You can also increase the damage of the Hero Sight attack from 100% to 155%.
To maximize damage even further, we also recommend investing your skill points into the weapon tab on Mario‘s skill tree menu. You can increase the weapon range of Mario’s Dual Slinger, and improve the Critical Hit chance of these pistols from 20% to 40%.
The other upgrades in the skill tree can be useful too like additional health and improved movement. However, as Mario already has a good range around the map and the Stomp ability only causes 70 damage, we feel the other two categories are more worth your time.

What Spark Should Be Added To Mario In The Early Game?
When you start Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, you’ll have a few sparks available to the team. The best for Mario is arguably the Starburst. Its ability will let you increase you and your allies’ damage by 20%, and it also has the Physical Protector, which reduces incoming damage by 15%. You can also pick the Pyrostar for Mario, which adds 45-55 damage to an attack and causes a burn effect on an enemy. As Rabbid Mario is a great attacking force, however, we’re saving the Pyrostar for them.
It’s too bad we can’t coordinate with a fellow player on how these skill trees go. We wish it was multiplayer like Mario Party Superstars.
