Guitar Hero Live had us lot scratching our noggins when it was announced.
With the game featuring full motion video, a new controller that you’ll have to buy rather than using your old ones and a “premium” service for new tracks, it’s hard not to feel a little bit “meh” about Activision’s revival of the long-dormant franchise, especially when the competition is doing all it can to accommodate player budgets.
Still, we’re cautiously optimistic about this one and it might even turn out to be the best guitar based game ever. Might.
Today, Activision did do a little something to get us to warm to the idea of Guitar Hero Live. In a press release sent to The Games Cabin, Activision announced that legendary rockers Avenged Sevenfold would be bringing three of their latest tracks to Guitar Hero Live’s premium service.
The tracks are:
· “Shepherd of Fire”
· “Buried Alive”
· “Nightmare”
You’ll also get to play just like Avenged did at the Download Festival not too long ago. The developers actually recorded the performance from the band’s perspective so that when you boot up Guitar Hero Live and decide to play Avenged’s songs, you’ll play in front of the massive 70,000 or so crowd that they did. Impressive, no? Pre-ordering Guitar Hero Live will net you day-one access to the aforementioned songs for free.
Below are a couple of screenshots of said performance being used in-game.
Guitar Hero Live will be available from October 23rd for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and selected mobile devices.
