Honkai: Star Rail – How to Superimpose your Light Cones
So, how do you Superimpose in Honkai: Star Rail, and what actually is Superimposing?
Superimposing is a method of levelling up your Light Cone’s effects in the game. Each Light Cone has a special ability that increases stats in different situations, and they’ll usually have a percentage of some kind in their description. This is what increases when you Superimpose them.
For example, the Hidden Shadow Light Cone has an ability which says “After using Skill, the wearer’s nest Basic ATK deals additional DMG equal to 60% of ATK to the nearest enemy”. Each time you Superimpose it, that 60% increases by 15% up to a total of 120%.
You can do this by clicking on the Light Cone while it’s equipped, then clicking on “Enhance“. On the left side of the screen, you’ll see an option for “Superimpose”. Then, click on one of the “materials required” boxes to add your materials.
Superimposing requires Light Cones of the same type as the original. To Superimpose Hidden Shadow, you need another Hidden Shadow. Essentially, you’re combining the two Light Cones into one. You can do this a total of four times.
Honkai: Star Rail – How to level up your Light Cones
So now you know how to Superimpose in Honkai: Star Rail, but you can also level up Light Cones the regular way just like you’d level up your characters. However, you’ll need a different material.
Light Cones require materials called Aether to level up. There are three types of Aether – Sparse, Condensed and Refined. Each one gives a different amount of XP.
Once you reach certain thresholds, you’ll need to ascend your Light Cones using ascension materials. These can be obtained from Calyxs, synthesising or from certain enemies in places like the Simulated Universe. You can also use other Light Cones as XP, but they will be destroyed in the process.
Just click on Enhance on your preferred Light Cone and add the materials to the boxes. The game will tell you how much you’re levelling up by in the top right.
