If you’ve been using a lot of Zonai devices, you might be wondering if you can get more Energy Cells in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Thankfully, there is a fairly simple way to do it, which requires getting your hands on Crystallized Charges.
We’ll show you where you can find these Charges and how to use them to upgrade your Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom: How to upgrade Energy Cells
To upgrade your Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom – known as Energy Wells – you first need to head just north of Lookout Landing. There, you’ll find a Zonai Steward Construct hanging out on top of a large rock. Two Hylians are looking up at him.
If you give the Steward Construct at least 100 Crystallized Charges, he will give you more Energy Wells. This means you can drive vehicles and use Zonai devices for longer without losing battery power.
Every 300 Crystallized Charges will give you a full Energy Well, but you can also give the Construct 100 of them if you don’t have that many. You can obtain eight of these in total. But how do you get Crystallized Charges?
Tears of the Kingdom: Finding Crystallized Charges
To get your hands on Crystallized Charges for your Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom you’ll need to head down into the depths. If you haven’t yet, complete the quest for Robbie in Lookout Landing where he asks you to travel down a chasm into the underground. It’s here where you’ll find Crystallized Charges.
At various points in the depths, you can find Steward Constructs selling Crystallized Charges in exchange for Zonaite. For example, you can find one at the Great Abandoned Central Mine.
This Steward Construct sells small Crystallized Charges for 3 Zonaite, and large ones for 3 Large Zonaite. Small ones only provide you with 1 Charge each, while large ones provide you with 20.
To get Zonaite, break Zonaite Ore deposits in the depths or kill enemies. Mines are particularly good for this as they usually have large Zonaite deposits embedded in the walls. The Blood Moon typically resets all deposits in the game.
You can also get Crystallized Charges as rewards from certain enemies or hidden treasure chests in the depths. Keep exploring the depths and eventually you’ll get enough Charges for a new Energy Cell, then head back to the Steward Construct outside Lookout Landing to add it to your inventory.
That’s all you need to know about how to upgrade your Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom.
