The future just got a bit bleaker for the PS Vita; it’s unique Remote Play, allowing you to play your PS4 games on the go, just became not so unique.
Sony’s new range of Xperia smartphones, the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, and Z3 Tablet Compact will all be added to the list of devices that can access your PS4 via Remote Play, letting players enjoy their PS4 games on another screen, freeing up the television for annoying siblings and parents.
The devices will be releasing this November with the option to purchase an attachable clip that allows you to connect your DualShock 4 controller to your smaller screen.
Previously only the PS Vita was able to stream games from the PS4 via Remote Play, but with the Xperia branded smartphones being able to do the same, the PS Vita is looking more and more redundant. Has Sony just given up?
Has this got you interested in Sony’s Xperia phones? Or is Remote Play not that big a deal for you? Let us know down in the comments section below.
