Sony has killed off the Project Morpheus name and replaced it with the much more consumer-friendly PlayStation VR.
No reason was given as to why the name was dropped and replaced, but Project Morpheus was declared as the virtual reality headset’s project name (hint: it’s in the name) from the beginning, so it was always going to change at some point. Hopefully the changing of the peripheral’s name indicates that we’re not too far from actually seeing the bloody thing release.
So, just to be clear, we’re not longer referring to the PS4 virtual reality piece as Morpheus, we’re calling it PlayStation VR. Handy enough, right?
What do you make of the name change? Did you like the old moniker, or are you happy with the simple and to-the-point PlayStation VR? Leave your virtual comment in the virtual comments section below these virtual words. Virtual enough?
