There’s been a lot of speculation as to which console Gran Turismo 6 will actually appear on, but a new listing by U.S retailer Newegg suggest that the racing simulator will be making an appearance on Sony’s current generation console, the PlayStation 3.
A few weeks ago there were a few leaks and rumours that Gran Turismo 6 would be seeing a release on the PlayStation 3, and to be honest this makes sense. It’s a big franchise and with 70-odd million people currently displaying PlayStation 3’s tucked under their televisions, it makes sense to get the biggest racing simulator out on the console with the biggest install base.
That’s not to say we won’t see Gran Turismo 6 release on the PlayStation 4, but with Drive Club already set to turn the racing genre on its head with team based, first-person social racing, it may be a while until the worlds premier racing-sim makes starts making waves on the PlayStation 4.
The new listing by Newegg doesn’t give much away and could well be a place holder by the retailer, but I think we’ll see more by E3, that’s unless Sony does go ahead and steal some of the limelight from Microsoft’s upcoming meeting by having another get-together, something that has been rumoured to be in the works.
