Tears of the Kingdom: Release time in BST, EDT, PDT & more
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom officially releases on May 12th, 2023. However, depending on your time zone it will officially come out at a different time in the day.
Here’s a list of time zones and the release time you can expect to be playing Tears of the Kingdom:
- UK – 12 am, May 12th (BST)
- East Coast USA – 12 am, May 12th (EDT)
- West Coast USA – 9 pm, May 11th (PDT)
- Europe – 12 am, May 12th (CEST)
- Japan – 12 am, May 12th (JST)
If you’re on the West Coast in the USA, you can expect to be able to play Tears of the Kingdom slightly ahead of midnight, at 9 pm on May 11th. For most regions, you’ll be able to play the game at midnight.
Tears of the Kingdom: Physical vs Digital release time
Physical editions of Tears of the Kingdom are playable the moment you get them, so if you got a copy in person, you’re all good. If you plan on buying the game digitally through Nintendo’s eShop, there is a restriction on when you can start playing.
Luckily, that restriction only lasts until the day the game comes out. For most players, you’ll be able to start playing as soon as it hits midnight on Friday, May 12th.
Tears of the Kingdom is shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the year, if not the generation. As a sequel to one of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time, it’s bound to be a huge release for many gamers across the globe.
