Ubisoft has been playing their cards close to their chest when it comes to Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, the spin-off title for the PS3 and Xbox 360. At first the firm stated that the standalone game would be releasing on the PS3 and Xbox 360, with no details of a PC, Wii U or next-gen release, though they did say they were listening to fans.
It looks like they’ve listened; Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is listed for the PC, Wii U and Xbox One on Ubisoft’s official site for the game, though it’s not been confirmed in any statement by Ubisoft, but the evidence is there.
At the bottom of this page you’ll find the platforms listed for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, including the Xbox One, PC and Wii U. It may just seem like a slight error, but other Ubisoft games, such as The Crew, only list the platforms for which the game is releasing. In the case of The Crew, we know there isn’t going to be a PS3 version, hence the lack of PS3 symbol.
So does it stand to reason that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is coming to the Wii U, PC and Xbox One? It’s perfectly possible and most people expect to see a re-release of AC: Rogue on the next-gen systems at some point as well as a PC release. Wii U version? A little more doubtful, but not out of the realm of possibility. The strange thing is, why isn’t there a PS4 logo with the listing?
At this moment in time we can’t be 100%, but we’ve emailed Ubisoft to see if they can clear this up and put our minds to rest. We won’t sleep otherwise, delicate souls that we are.
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is set to release alongside Assassin’s Creed: Unity on November 11th in North America and November 13th in the UK and Europe and is available to pre-order on Amazon UK.
