To get Bottle Caps, you can take part in 4-star or harder raid battles. If you’re successful in the raid, you can sometimes get Bottle Caps as a reward.
Obviously, the more raids you do the more Bottle Caps you’ll end up amassing. However, there are more ways to get your hands on them too.
Some towns have shops called Delibird Presents. These shops sell a variety of rare or strong items, and Bottle Caps are among their stock. Not all of these shops will have them though, but just keep an eye out for shops with a Delibird picture above them.
You can even obtain rarer Gold Bottle Caps in the Porto Marinada auctions, but these are not guaranteed to show up so it may take some time before you get the chance to bid on them. You should be familiar with the auctions if you’ve beaten the Water gym challenge.

Now that you have them, you can travel to Montenevera to actually use your newly obtained Bottle Caps.
There’s a man standing near an Abomasnow in the snow who you’ll have to speak with. He allows you to hyper-train your Pokemon using Bottle Caps.
Through hyper training, you can max out your IVs on a Pokemon to improve its overall statistics and make it better in battles. You’ll have to do this if you want the absolute strongest possible team. However, it’s not possible to do hyper training until you’ve obtained all the gym badges.
