Welcome to our Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 1 Ladder Guide. In this guide, we will be organizing information to help you prepare for Ladder Season 1.
What Class Should I Play?
When it comes to classes, all classes are a viable start. A good portion of people swears by Sorceress until you can get an enigma but every class has its good farms without it. You should pick a class that you enjoy and go hard at leveling and finding loot. The 7 classes to pick from are as follows:
- Amazon
- Sorceress
- Paladin
- Barbarian
- Necromancer
- Assassin
- Druid
Once you have picked a class, look around at some builds to find one that looks interesting to you and follow it.
What’s the fastest way to level?
Leveling in Diablo 2 Resurrected can be done in a few ways. The first way is to just play through the game and enjoy the story. We recommend using these guides as references in case you get stuck.
The second way is to take the power leveling route that has been around for a long time. That route is as follows:

- Finish the story of act 1 and 2.

- Finish the story through act 5
- Ancients no earlier than 24
- Up to level 40/45 – Chaos/Baal runs in public Games
- Start and play through NM mode act 1-5
- Chaos/Baal runs to 70/75
- Hell act 1-5
- Chaos/Baal runs – 99
Rush Available
- Unlock Tristram
- Up to level 15 – Tristram Runs
- Act 1-2 Rush
- Tomb runs to 24
- Act 3-5 Rush
- Ancients no earlier than 24 so you hit at least 25
- Up to level 40/45 – Chaos/Baal Runs
- Nightmare Act 1-5 Rush
- Up to level 70/75 – Chaos/Baal Runs

(Note – In Patch 2.4 Mercenaries received an overhaul to make all mercenaries viable. Once more testing is done we will update this section)
When it comes to Mercenary choices there really is only 1. The Act 2 Mercenary is the most popular choice do to its auras and stability. In Normal/Hell mode you can acquire a Prayer/Blessed aim/Defiance aura. In Nightmare you can acquire a Holy Freeze/Might/Thorns aura. In normal mode Prayer/Defiance is popular among casters, and Blessed aim on physical. Overall the Nightmare Holy Freeze or Might aura is the best of them all.
